Mathias Sercu (°1970) is an actor and screenwriter.

He graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and is known as a very versatile actor.
Mathias participated in several major film successes such as Ad Fundum (1993) by Erik Van Looy, the Oscar nominated Everybody’s Famous (2000) by Dominique Deruddere, Team Spirit I and II and Zot van A by Jan Verheyen, Tanghi Argentini (2006) by Guido Thys and will be featuring in My First Highway the debut by Kevin Meul and Le Ciel Flamand by Peter Monsaert.

Mathias is also known for his roles in television productions such as Vermist, Danni Lowinski, Salamander, Strikers.

In 2014 Mathias won several national and international awards with the television drama, Marsman, where he not only acted but also took on the writing and co-directing.

Recently Mathias has taken on a wide variety of roles in series such as CoppersCordon 2, De Bunker, De Ridder and Tytgat Chocolat.

Mathias performed in over 50 theatre plays by several companies such as NTGent and De Spelerij.

His mother tongue is Flemish. He speaks French and English.
